not really. but “they” do, if you’re interested in a thorough analysis of the illegality of the whole “domestic warantless wiretapping” thing, you should read this thing, written by no less than 15 constitutional scholars. It would be especially helpful to have read it if you ever get into a conversation with someone who’s all like “bitch please, the president has all kinds of rights! don’t you want to not die in a big mushroom cloud up in the sky?”
also, when most people die because of nuclear blasts they are on the ground. you should probably correct them for that, too.
here’s a quote from the letter:
“According to Attorney General Gonzales, the NSA may wiretap any person in the United States who so much as receives a communication from anyone abroad, if the administration deems either of the parties to be affiliated with al Qaeda, a member of an organization affiliated with al Qaeda, “working in support of al Qaeda,” or “part of” an organization or group “that is supportive of al Qaeda.” Under this reasoning, a U.S. citizen living here who received a phone call from another U.S. citizen who attends a mosque that the administration believes is “supportive” of al Qaeda could be wiretapped without a warrant.”
